DAPHNE, Alabama — The Daphne Library will offer a science workshop at 3:45 p.m. on May 14 in the library community room.
Denise H. Heubach, an agent with the Baldwin County Extension office will present the workshop.

SILVERHILL, Alabama — The Elsie Chandler Children’s wing at the Oscar Johnson Memorial Library in Silverhill is a little richer these days, thanks to a donation from the Libri Foundation’s Books for Children program.
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The Orange Beach Public Library recently participated in fine forgiveness during National Library Week on April 14-20, but has decided to take it a step further.
The annual Book Sale held Feb. 7-9 at the Gulf Shores Activity Center was a success said Friends of the Library.
Friends of the Library would like to thank everyone who assisted, donated, transported books and those who purchased items. Donations of books, DVD’s, CD’s were received through out the year.
FOLEY, Alabama — The Friends of the Foley Public Library will hold their annual book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Foley Civic Center.
GULF SHORES, Alabama – The Gulf Shores Library announces a new exhibit of art by regional artist George Willis Tate. A graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile and the University of Southern Mississippi, Tate went on to complete a graduate degree summa cum laude at Penn State as well as further studies at Stanford, Northwestern, and George Washington Universities.
For 14 months, the Baldwin County Library Cooperative didn’t pay its $1,055.55 a month rent to the county.
The library, which rents space at the Baldwin County Central Annex in Robertsdale, thought the county had agreed to waive the rent.
GULF SHORES, Alabama — In January, 2013 the “Gulf Shores Friends of the Library” will be holding two Events to raise funds for the Thomas B. Norton Library. MAGNOLIA SPRINGS — Magnolia Springs Public Library will begin the new year with a check.
That’s because during its regular meeting last week, the Magnolia Springs Town Council voted to provide the library with $9,000 in funding for the 2013 fiscal year, with the expenditure being broken down into quarterly payments of $2,500.
FAIRHOPE, Alabama — Members of the Alpha Gamma Chapter hosted guest speaker Alan Samry at a recently meeting.
Samry, a reference assistant librarian at the Fairhope Public Library, gave a talk and slide presentation of the Clay City People. Samry, who said he became fascinated with the history behind Clay City, decided to explore the intricacies of Clay City, its people and how the Clay City bricks were made.
FOLEY, Alabama – The Foley Public Library will present Dolores Hydock live at 6 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Foley Civic Center.
Hydock, an actress, writer and nationally recognized, award-winning storyteller, will present “Santa's Watching, So I Gotta Tell the Truth!” She will present an evening of funny, affectionate stories about food fads, good intentions, family rituals, and the search for the perfect holiday tradition.
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Orange Beach Fire Fighters Battalion Chief Kevin Lanford, Lieutenant David Gant, Johnnie Sundie and Jeremy Lewis joined junior fire fighters for story time at the Orange Beach Public Library on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
GULF SHORES, Alabama — The Friends of the Thomas B. Norton Public Library will hold their second of five meetings of the 2012-2013 year at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 13. at the First Presbyterian Church in Gulf Shores.
The Friends meeting will feature guest speaker Bonnie Donaldson, Director City of Foley Museum Archives.
DAPHNE, Alabama — The Daphne Public Library will host a computer workshop entitled “AVL: Research Express” from 4 to 5 p.m. Oct. 25 in the library computer lab. This workshop is designed to give an overview of the Alabama Virtual Library, a valuable collection of online databases with information on many topics, available to any Alabama citizen.
GULF SHORES, Alabama — The Friends of the Thomas B. Norton Library in Gulf Shores will host a public golf outing fundraiser on Oct. 20 at Peninsula Golf Resort.
All proceeds will benefit the library. Sign-up is open until Oct. 16.
BALDWIN COUNTY, Alabama — Libraries in Baldwin County have revised their normal operating hours this week due to the approach and landfall of Tropical Storm Isaac.
Officials say schedules may be altered again, depending on conditions, so patrons are advised to check with their local libraries.
